Overview

Cristo Rey is a Catholic, college- preparatory high school with a professional work study program. Corna Kokosing performed a $15.7M historic renovation of the 1890’s Ohio School for the Blind and the Deaf and turned it into a modern, student-centered learning environment. It includes a multipurpose fitness space, dining room that supports family-style dining, large multipurpose “college-like” commons areas for interaction/collaboration; study alcoves and niches; gallery space to celebrate student work; teaching studios that are an open floor plan and connect to smaller teaching suites; and expansive, 15-ft-ceiling classrooms (1,850 SF each) with large storage areas and prep stations for multidisciplinary integrated learning and labs.
