Annunciation Greek Orthodox Cathedral
Phased construction of a traditional Greek Cathedral, education wing, 600 person social hall, and administration office wing.
The Cathedral was built in the traditional Byzantine style of architecture, which dates back to the sixth century, A.D. This style of architecture incorporates a floor plan of a Greek cross, which is a cross whose arms are of equal length. The mosaics within the Cathedral consist of roughly five million tiles of Venetian glass, marble and 24-carat gold sandwiched in a thin layer between two pieces of glass. They are the work of an Italian artisan.
This is a landmark building in the downtown Columbus skyline.
