Overview

Jefferson Hall was renovated to enhance the quality of the residential experience. The goal was to modernize all interior elements while respecting and maintaining the historic Georgian character. The project was designed for LEED Silver certification. The upper floors, which are residential, are now infused with more natural light, collaboration spaces, a community kitchen, and study rooms. The first floor now has a lobby, collaboration spaces, a large multi-purpose room, and a game room for student life.

The first floor marketplace has a modern and vibrant feel designed to serve students and faculty. In addition to a grocery, deli, juice bar, coffee shop, and tea shop, they also have a Culinary Studio with live cooking demos, classes about special dietary needs, visits from guests chefs, and cooking classes for kids. Their mission is to be “an educational food experience.” Ohio University’s newsletter, Compass, has a great story featuring the recent opening of the New Jefferson Marketplace.
